If you’ve recently moved to the Los Angeles area and are looking for housing, jobs, counseling, etc., here is a list of some resources that we’ve collected over time. Please do your research, as Hope in the Hills isn’t responsible for the services you receive. Thank you.

According to a recent L.A. Times article, Los Angeles tops the nation in chronic homelessness, so much so that the city recently declared a state of emergency over homelessness. Lack of stable housing is the #1 problem we’ve witnessed among artists and creatives who move to Los Angeles without substantial financial resources and/or survival occupations.

If at all possible, when you prepare to move to Los Angeles, try to plan ahead and move when you have an occupation or at least 6 – 12 months of savings that would allow you time to find an occupation. If this is not possible, try to secure a survival job as quickly as possible to pay for your housing experiences. Enlist the help of family, friends and ministries who know and support you.

If you find yourself in a homeless situation without family or friends who can help you, here are some agencies that you can contact in Los Angeles:
