Rasheed M. McWilliams, Esq. is a veteran entertainment attorney and executive with over 18 years of experience in the music industry. He will give honest insight and feedback about the new norms in the biz and distinctions between music label and indie paths.
Rasheed became active in the Atlanta music industry starting in the late 1990’s, including being in the nightclub business and owning a commercial recording studio, Metronome Studios. During his career, Rasheed has worked with artists and producers as Snoop Dogg, Dee-1, Adrian Marcel, T.I., Bone Thugs & Harmony, Young Jeezy, DJ Envy, Monica, Gucci Mane, Wacka Flocka Flame, Yin Yang Twins, Crime Mob, Kandi Burress, FloRida, Rocko, Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe, Fatboi, Superdave and Shawty Redd.
Rasheed also has over 15 years of experience as legal counsel in the music business. He is the former New Media and Entertainment counsel for a major law firm in Atlanta, which included the representation of songwriters, record producers, recording artists, production companies, record companies, music publishing companies and full-service entertainment entities in connection with business formation, employment agreements, publishing agreements, recording agreements, producer agreements, production agreements and distribution agreements in the music and radio broadcasting industries.
At present, Rasheed is the attorney for Grace Gealey (“Empire”), DJ Envy (Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club), Producer Fatboi (Monica, Gucci Mane), Producer Superdave (Roscoe Dash, Anjali, Kalin and Myles), Recording Artist Adrian Marcel (Republic Records) and numerous management and production companies. Rasheed is also the personal manager for select clients.
